Hi, I'm Suzanne!

I am a licensed master level social worker (LMSW) working as a psychotherapist in Austin, Texas under the clinical supervision of Grace Dowd, LCSW-S.  I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Masters in Social Work and have lived in Austin over 20 years.  I have a decade of experience as a special education teacher/coordinator and am a registered yoga teacher (RYT-200) with over 6 years of teaching experience including restorative yoga, prenatal yoga, children’s yoga, Iyengar yoga, and Viniyoga.  Most importantly I am a mom to my 2 teenage sons and my rescue pup.

I specialize in working with women, parents, adolescents, children, people with autism, ADHD, learning differences, and persons who are highly sensitive and neurodivergent with a holistic approach.  I have over 20 years experience working with children, adolescents, and their parents including a decade of experience as a teacher in special education .  I am a registered yoga teacher specializing in Iyengar, restorative, prenatal, children’s yoga, and Viniyoga.

In my therapeutic work, I draw from various therapeutic approaches including somatic therapy, parts therapy, attachment theory, Cognitive Behavioral therapy as well as focus on codependency, boundaries work, the whole-brain child, Conscious Discipline, non-violent communication, and radical acceptance.  My goal as a therapist is to instill self-compassion and self-acceptance and to guide clients on their own path to healing by connecting and integrating the emotional body with the physical body.

How I Help

In our work together,  I will draw from various therapeutic approaches including somatic therapy, parts therapy, attachment theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as focus on codependency, boundaries work, the whole-brain child, Conscious Discipline, non-violent communication, and radical acceptance.  My goal as a therapist is to instill self-compassion and self-acceptance and to guide you on your own path to healing by connecting and integrating the emotional body with the physical body.  We will work together to create a safe, accepting space and trusting therapeutic relationship which allows you to sit with and uncover traumas, attachment styles, and previously held unconscious beliefs and stories that no longer serve you.  You are whole and inherently possess all you need to be well.  Our journey together will reflect your own unique journey of creating a life you do not need to escape from.
