Katelyn Whelan, LMSW

Hi, I'm Katelyn!

I am a licensed master social worker working as a psychotherapist in Austin, Texas currently under clinical supervision of Grace Dowd, LCSW-S.

I graduated from Texas State University in 2018 with a Masters in Social Work. I hold experience within both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings. I have provided group and individual therapy to persons suffering from various levels of mental health issues including depression, anxiety, mania, mood disturbance, and psychosis.

How I Help

I use a strengths-based person-centered approach valuing the unique needs and perspectives of each client. I strive to foster a safe, nonjudgmental space for clients to share their life experiences and identify, explore, and challenge self-defeating thoughts and beliefs. I understand therapy as a journey unique to each individual and am committed to walking alongside each client towards peace and healing.
